Pages from one of Carothers' lab notebooks

            June 3, 1927, and June 6, 1927
Collection of Jane C. Wylen, daughter of Carothers

Carothers was especially interested in the chemistry of polymers, very large molecules made up of chains of smaller ones. This notebook, from the period just before he came to DuPont in 1928, records his research on amides, the class of molecules from which he developed nylon.
