Producing the nylon ribbon

            Casting polymer from 250-pound autoclave, pilot plant Carl Searles, Gene Herlihy, Harry Rash, C. F. Wells

          After the polymer formation, the molten nylon was extruded from the bottom of the autoclave as a ribbon. It was cooled to a solid with a water spray, then cut into chips.
