lymph nodes — small organs located at various places in the body that filter the
lymphatic fluid. The lymphatic fluid carries germ fighting agents like
antibodies to any place in the body they
are needed. Often times the lymph nodes are affected by certain forms of cancer, and abnormal
lymph nodes are sometimes an early warning sign of cancer.
