What are the greatest chemical discoveries of all time? Bill Nye, "The Science Guy," attempts to answer this question in Great Discoveries with Bill Nye: Chemistry. The program, produced by the Science Channel, first aired as part of the 100 Greatest Discoveries series, hosted by Nye. On the DVD the experts weigh in on such topics as the first synthesis of an organic compound from inorganic materials, the periodic table, polymers and plastics, chemical atomic theory, structural chemistry, fullerenes, and the discovery of oxygen.
