Michal Meyer is editor in chief of Distillations magazine and director of public programming in the Roy Eddleman Institute. She holds a PhD and a master’s degree in history from the University of Florida and a bachelor's degree in physics and a diploma in applied science from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Michal has previously worked as a weather forecaster in New Zealand and Fiji, as magazine editor of the Jerusalem Post, and as editor of the History of Science Society Newsletter. She has a long history of falling off horses, but has given that up as a hobby.

Mariel Carr is Distillations’ multimedia producer. She produces Distillations videos and the Distillations podcast. She has a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied documentary film. Mariel has worked as a radio producer for KALW 91.7 FM in San Francisco, as a documentary production assistant for PBS’ FRONTLINE, and as a teaching artist at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Jacob Roberts is staff writer for Distillations magazine. He also curates the Distillations blog. Jacob has a bachelor’s degree in history from Wesleyan University. Previously he worked as an intern at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, as a development assistant at St. James School in Philadelphia, and as an intern at Distillations magazine.
