Before pharmaceuticals existed, all medicines had to come from natural sources—like plants. On this week’s show we focus on such remedies. First, Jennifer Dionisio tells us about a natural heart medicine derived from the foxglove flower. And next, producer Joel Rose visits Lancaster Farmacy in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where Casey Spacht and Elisabeth (or Eli) Weaver take us on a tour of their farm and Community Supported Medicine venture.
