There's Always Room For...
Detail from The New Jell-O Book of Surprises. CHF Collections.
In the 1930s popular Jell-O recipes were as often savory as they were sweet. Though they sound somewhat unappetizing to modern palates, dishes like Jell-O Macaroni Salad were featured on dining tables across America. Tonight at CHF, we'll host a tasting of this very dish. Try it yourself and let us know what you think!
1 package Lemon Jell-O
½ cup celery
½ cup cabbage, shredded
½ green pepper
1 cup cooked macaroni
Cook Jell-O according to package directions. Chill until Jell-O starts to set. Stir in macaroni and vegetables.
Turn into mold. Chill until firm, then unmold.
