“Strike a good balance between your career and your personal life.”

Laura McCunn

It’s not all about career, says Laura McCunn. Marriage and family need to be considered when choosing a path, she says, and she credits a lot of her career success to having a supportive husband.

McCunn is currently an assistant professor at Marshall University in West Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Ohio Wesleyan University, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physical chemistry from the University of Chicago and a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University. Her research interests include the structure, reactivity, and spectral properties of radicals.
