“If you’re good with language and good with communication, you have something to offer.”

Rachael Brady

In her job as a technical writer Rachael Brady is an artist surrounded by scientists. She talks about the challenges, joys, and importance of using strong communication skills to translate scientific discoveries, and discusses the power that comes from artistic and scientific minds reaching toward a common goal.

Brady received her B.A. degree in English with an emphasis in professional writing and editing from West Virginia University in 2009, and is currently a senior business analyst for KeyLogic Systems. She landed her first job as a technical writer and editor with a contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy. Much of her current work involves assisting in the process of awarding cooperative agreement funding for renewable-energy research-and-development projects, working directly with the engineers who assess and monitor these projects to then formulate and communicate their ideas.
