Heritage Day
Heritage Day is CHF’s annual celebration of achievement and promise in chemistry and the molecular sciences. Heritage Day 2010 will take place on 7–8 April 2010. Festivities include presentation of the Othmer Gold Medal, the Richard J. Bolte, Sr., Award for Supporting Industries, and several other awards. The 2010 Othmer Gold Medal will be awarded to George Whitesides.

Innovation Day and the SCI Gordon E. Moore Medal
This annual event brings together industry leaders and young innovators at the frontiers of chemical innovation. The day features the Warren G. Schlinger Symposium and the awarding of the SCI Gordon E. Moore Medal. The 2009 SCI Gordon E. Moore Medal was awarded to Emma Parmee. Innovation Day 2009 took place on 14–15 September.

Heritage Awards
CHF sponsors or cosponsors four annual heritage awards that honor outstanding achievement in the chemistry and related sciences, technologies, and industries:

The Biotechnology Heritage Award
The Franklin-Lavoisier Prize
The Petrochemical Heritage Award
The Pittcon Heritage Award

Roy G. Neville Prize in Bibliography or Biography
The Roy G. Neville Prize in Bibliography or Biography is presented annually to recognize an outstanding monograph in the areas of the chemistry and related sciences. The 2009 Neville Prize was awarded to William H. Brock on 15 October 2009 for his book William Crookes (1832-1919) and the Commercialization of Science.

Ullyot Public Affairs Lecture
The Ullyot Public Affairs Lecture emphasizes to the general public the positive role that chemistry and related sciences play in our lives. Lectures are held annually and are open to the public. Lecturers are distinguished in their fields, nationally recognized, and able to communicate to a nonscientific audience.

The 2009 lecturer was Joseph M. DeSimone, Chancellor’s Eminent Professor of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University.

Ralph Connor Memorial Lecture
The Ralph Connor Memorial Lecture showcases periodic addresses on the role of research in the development of technology and industry by eminent practitioners in the chemistry and related sciences.
