Ordinary notebook, extraordinary idea: Paul Lauterbur's 1971 research notebook detailing ideas for MRI

In a simple spiral-bound notebook, Paul Lauterbur plotted his ideas for what later became known as Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI. Undoubtedly a defining piece of our chemical heritage, this notebook details a significant breakthrough in medical science with significant applications for both medical diagnosis and treatments.

Experimenter Today, Scientist Tomorrow: The History of Chemistry Sets
From their debut in the early 20th century to the new millenium, chemistry sets have inspired generations to become scientists in their own homes. CHF has a significant collection of chemistry sets, and this exhibit will take you on a brief tour.
