Researching the Collections

CHF makes its art, artifact, archival, and photographic collection available to researchers in a number of ways.

Arrange a visit
To learn about the collections and to schedule a research visit, please contact archivist@chemheritage.org.

Search the online database
For an introductory look at our collections, visit our searchable online database. There are detailed records for approximately 200 works of art, instruments and apparatus, artifacts, and photographs.

Use our online archival finding aids
The bulk of our archival collections are cataloged, with downloadable finding aids, in the online public access catalog (OPAC) of the Othmer Library of Chemical History. This includes
