How To Apply for CHF Fellowships
The application process for 2008-2009 fellowships is now closed. Please check back in fall of 2008 for more information about the 2009-2010 fellowships.
There is no specific application form to apply for CHF fellowships. Also please note that, unlike past procedures, you do not have to apply for a specific fellowship (apart from the Gore, Société, and Ullyot fellowships) but simply for a long-term or short-term fellowship. The review committee will assign specific fellowships to individuals as appropriate.
To apply, please provide the following:
- A cover sheet indicating which type of fellowship (long-term, short-term, Gore, Société, or Ullyot) you are applying for and (for short-term fellowships) the number of months of support required, along with the following information: name; mailing address to be used for future correspondence; telephone and fax numbers; e-mail address; present rank and institution name; date Ph.D. received or expected; citizenship status/need for a visa; and title of your research project.
- A research proposal of no more than 1,000 words addressing the relevance of CHF resources, how the work advances scholarship, and how the outcome might be published.
- A CV of no more than three pages in length.
- Two letters of recommendation sent directly to the fellowships coordinator. It is the applicant's responsibility to contact referees and supply them with a description of the project. Letters postmarked after the deadline of 15 February 2008 will not be considered.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to send items 1-3 in electronic format. Electronic applications must be sent by the deadline to:
fellowships@chemheritage.org.
All printed materials and letters of recommendations must be postmarked by the deadline and sent to:
