Nearly 250 visitors joined us for the opening celebration of Elemental Matters: Artists Imagine Chemistry and met the artists whose works are featured in the exhibit. View photos from the exhibit opening.

Elemental Matters features contemporary artists whose artwork uses the elements as symbol, material, or energy to transform ordinary associations about chemistry into something surprising and genuinely evocative.

Elemental Matters is generously supported by Kathryn C. Hach-Darrow.

Celebrate IYC 2011

Elemental Matters will be on display throughout the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011), a worldwide celebration of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind.
