The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) welcomes ACS members to Philadelphia!
CHF preserves the history of chemistry and related sciences—your history. While you’re in town, visit CHF to
- Peruse our museum and collections, which include vintage chemistry sets, an analytical balance used by ACS cofounder Charles Chandler, and much more.
- Explore our newest exhibit, The Alchemical Quest, featuring rare books of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.
- See a sneak preview of The Catalyst Series: Women in Chemistry—short films highlighting women whose drive for success and passion for chemistry led them to change the world for the better.
Visitor information
The Museum at CHF is open special extended hours during the 244th ACS National Meeting:
Sunday, August 19 • 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Monday, August 20, through Wednesday, August 22 • 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Admission is FREE.
Transportation
Monday, August 20, through Wednesday, August 22, between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., a free shuttle will depart on the hour from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and on the :10 from CHF.
At the Pennsylvania Convention Center, pick-up and drop-off will take place in front of the Route 1 sign in the shuttle area. On the CHF end, the shuttle will pick up and drop off on the corner of 4th and Chestnut streets.
