In the golden age of alchemy newly perfected distillation practices met centuries-old herbal remedies. Homegrown medicines are still used today, and they’re gaining popularity. Join us as we examine the art and science of herbal medicine, from folk traditions to current wisdom.
Bethany Deflores will join us from Herbiary, a Philadelphia purveyor of organic-plant medicines, bulk herbs, extracts, and essential oils. Deflores will give an introduction to the variety and uses of medicinal herbs and will demonstrate the making of a tincture and herb-infused vinegar.
CHF’s newest exhibit, The Alchemical Quest, will be on display. CHF’s permanent exhibit, Making Modernity, will also be open for viewing.
