The fall harvest is upon us. What will you do with all your perishable produce? Fear not: local canning guru Marisa McClellan will be on hand to demonstrate one of her favorite recipes for small-batch preserving. We will also be sprinkling this talk with some background on the history and science of the canning process.

About the Speaker 

Marisa McClellan is a full-time food writer and canning teacher, and is the sole blogger at Food in Jars. She is the author of Food in Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year-Round (Running Press, 2012) and Preserving by the Pint: Quick Seasonal Canning for Small Spaces (Running Press, 2014). Her writing appears regularly on The Food Network, Saveur’s website Table Matters, and in Food 52′s Small Batch series
